Principal's Welcome

Welcome to the 2024-25 School Year at Petoskey High School!

As the Principal of Petoskey High School, I am thrilled to welcome all students, staff, and families to another exciting school year. Our continued mission at PHS is to provide a safe and supportive learning environment where each student can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to preparing all of our students to graduate ready for college, career, and life beyond high school.

This year, we are excited to further strengthen our PRIDE initiative, which stands for Personal Integrity, Respect, Inclusivity, Dedication, and Engagement. Every Wednesday, teachers will continue to highlight PRIDE expectations in their classrooms, while staff celebrate student successes through PRIDE tickets and weekly rewards for demonstrating these values throughout the school.

Additionally, our "Reach Higher Thursdays" will continue to focus on college and career readiness. Students will be presented with valuable resources, videos, and community opportunities to explore their futures and make informed decisions about life after high school.

At PHS, we remain dedicated to offering diverse learning opportunities that support post-secondary success. Our eight Advanced Placement (AP) courses, along with eight Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, provide students with a wide range of academic and hands-on learning experiences. Our partnership with North Central Michigan College continues to thrive, offering students the chance to participate in Early College and Dual Enrollment programs.

We also take great pride in our vibrant Fine Arts and extracurricular programs. PHS is home to the acclaimed PHS Marching Northmen, Steel Drum Band, and Madrigal music groups. We offer a variety of clubs and activities, including National Honor Society, Student Leadership, Robotics Club, Model UN, Diversity Club, and many others, allowing every student to find their place and passion at PHS.

The staff at Petoskey High School is honored to be part of this incredible community. We are here to support and guide our students as they embark on another successful year and prepare for the opportunities that await them after graduation.
